There are moments in life when you stop asking whether someone else is going to step forward and realize it is time to do it yourself. For me, this campaign was born in that kind of moment. It comes from a deep love for Oregon, a growing concern for the direction of our state, and a sincere belief that the people of this district deserve leadership that is grounded, honest, and accountable.
I am running for office because I believe Oregon is worth fighting for.
I love this state for its beauty, its communities, its independent spirit, and the people who work hard every day to build good lives here. I also believe many Oregonians no longer recognize the direction our state has taken. Families are feeling the pressure of rising costs. Parents are frustrated by declining confidence in our schools. Taxpayers are tired of watching government grow while results shrink. Businesses are navigating an environment that too often feels hostile to growth and common sense. Public trust has eroded, and people are weary of being talked at instead of listened to.
That is not the Oregon we want to leave to our children.
My campaign is rooted in a simple belief. Government should do the basics well. It should protect public safety, steward taxpayer dollars responsibly, support conditions for economic opportunity, and operate with transparency and accountability. It should respect families, respect communities, and respect the people who pay for it. That is the lens I bring to this race, and that is why my campaign is centered on restoring hope and renewing trust.
Restoring hope begins with affordability. Oregon families should not feel like they are falling behind no matter how hard they work. The cost of living continues to rise while too many leaders respond with more bureaucracy, more excuses, and more spending disconnected from measurable outcomes. I support policies that make life more affordable for working families, protect taxpayers, encourage job creation, and create an environment where small businesses can grow instead of simply survive. Economic stability is not a luxury. It is the foundation for strong families and strong communities.
Renewing trust requires accountability. Oregonians deserve to know how their money is being spent, what results their leaders are delivering, and whether public institutions are serving the people effectively. Trust is not rebuilt through slogans or carefully crafted talking points. Trust is rebuilt when leaders answer hard questions, tell the truth about what is working and what is not, and remain accountable to the people who sent them there. I believe in transparent governance, clear priorities, and a higher standard of responsibility in Salem.
Public safety is another core priority for me. Families should be able to live, work, shop, and raise their children in communities that feel safe and supported. People should not have to wonder whether leadership takes crime, disorder, and public instability seriously. Compassion and accountability can exist together. A functioning society requires both. I support policies that uphold the rule of law, support law enforcement, and ensure that public systems are designed to protect communities rather than excuse decline.
Education must also return to fundamentals. Our children deserve classrooms focused on learning, excellence, and opportunity. Parents deserve a voice and a genuine partnership in their children’s education. Schools should equip students with knowledge, discipline, and the tools they need to succeed in life. Too often, families feel ignored while academic outcomes suffer. I believe we must refocus on educational quality, transparency, and parental involvement. Oregon cannot thrive if we lose sight of what schools are meant to do.
My campaign also reflects a broader commitment to responsible leadership. I am not running to perform for a political class. I am running to represent the people who are living with the consequences of poor decisions, misplaced priorities, and a government that too often seems more interested in defending itself than serving the public. I want to help restore a culture of leadership that values competence over posturing, stewardship over excess, and service over ego.
This campaign is also about connection. One of my goals is to create more meaningful ways for voters to engage directly with the issues affecting our district. That includes building open channels for community feedback, creating opportunities for real conversation, and making sure people feel heard. Good representation does not begin and end at election time. It requires ongoing communication, a willingness to listen, and the humility to remember who this work is for.
I know what it means to live in the real world, where families juggle responsibilities, budgets matter, safety matters, schools matter, and trust matters. I am not approaching this race from a place of theory. I am approaching it from lived experience, from deep conviction, and from love for this state and the people who call it home. I have spent years working in systems that affect real lives, and I have seen firsthand what happens when leadership is clear, capable, and people-centered. I have also seen the damage done when it is not.
For the Love of Oregon is more than a slogan to me. It is the reason I am running. It speaks to what is at stake and what is still worth preserving. It reflects a belief that our state can do better, that our communities deserve better, and that leadership still has the power to restore confidence where it has been lost. Hope is not restored by pretending everything is fine. Hope is restored when people see that change is possible and that someone is willing to fight for it. Trust is not renewed through polished messaging alone. Trust is renewed through truth, consistency, and action.
I am running because I believe Oregon’s best days are still worth fighting for. I am running because families deserve a government that remembers them. I am running because too much has been normalized that should never have been accepted. I am running because I believe leadership should be steady, principled, and accountable. Most of all, I am running for the love of Oregon.
Restoring hope. Renewing trust. Rebuilding confidence in the future we share.
This is the work ahead, and I am ready for it.
